Supporting World Environment Day - Say all it with Telecards

World Environment Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972 and is celebrated each year on June 5. This day is one of the main ways the United Nations helps raise global awareness of environmental issues and encourages attention and action.

The theme for this year’s (2013) World Environment Day celebrations is Think.Eat.Save. Think.Eat.Save is an anti-food waste and food loss campaign that encourages you to reduce your foot watage. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), every year 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted. This is equivalent to the same amount produced in the whole of sub-Saharan Africa. At the same time, 1 in every 7 people in the world go to bed hungry and more than 20,000 children under the age of 5 die daily from hunger. Given this enormous imbalance in lifestyles and the resultant devastating effects on the environment, this year’s theme – Think.Eat.Save – encourages you to become more aware of the environmental impact of the food choices you make and empowers you to make informed decisions.

World Environment Day is celebrated around the world in many ways, including street rallies, bicycle parades, green concerts, essay and poster competitions in schools, tree planting, recycling efforts, clean-up campaigns and much more.

Since it’s everybody’s responsibility to act for a better Environment, I have taken a small step towards spreading the spirit of World Environment Day, by posting the World wide Telephone Cards, with Nature, Wild Life and other related pictures. Now my post became successful as you are viewing it and started thinking of your role on “ Environment Protection”
